Let's Rebrand Britain: Idea 1

How would you feel about our children celebrating the meaning of life in the form of Positive Thinking or Celebrating Life Classes at schools?

Whether you like it or not, Britain is a multi-cultural society, with a colourful mix of religions and races. The one thing we all have in common is that we are alive!

Celebrate Life classes should be upbeat occasions celebrating life (not religion), the amazing human body and what it can do in its life. Just half and hour a day as a last lesson, or assembly, would help children to leave school motivated! The classes/sessions would celebrate human successes and icons. What do the successful people share in common? Positivity!

Curriculum ideas

> Amazing facts about the body (not a biology lesson - but fun facts that will be remembered).

> Encourage kids to dream, and to follow their dreams!

> Study positive things about different cultures.

> Study successful British icons - read their books.

> Encourage feedback and debates - get children involved.

> Encourage and organise community events for children.

These sessions would be about positive thinking, not about preaching biased religion.

During our research for this project, we were surprised that despite the population increasing by 380,000 since last year, that crime has 'apparently' fallen since 1995 (according to the police and the British Crime Survey). Despite these results, the ERSC (Economic and Social Research Council) report that 'fear of crime' has risen and that two in three people believe that crime has increased over the years.

Maybe certain crime is decreasing, however, knife crime is definitely up, with 27 teeenage killings in London last year. One in four murders in London results in teenage victims and research shows that this is due to the increase in gangs. This violence occurs within 'gangs' as well as 'gang against gang'. The violence is not always drug related - it is also due to jealousy and debt within these gangs.

According to research, the common link between violent gangstas is a general 'lack of lust for life', lack of education, training and employability. Generally 'gangstas' are frustrated, and feel the need to 'belong'. They anger quickly over trivial matters, such as a dirty look from someone.

Other surprising research showed that life expectancy is up by eight years, compared to 25 years ago, especially if you are loaded! The gap between rich and poor is widening.

Please remember that this is a non-political, non-religious website. The founder is a British resident fed up with anti-social behaviour, and increase in violence and the general negative mind-set of some Brits who spoil it for the rest.

Community Brainstorming Sessions (inc. teenagers and children)

As cliche as it sounds, children are our future. We should include them and listen to them. If they feel like they belong, they will not have to join gangs to be heard.

I invite you to tell us how you would you feel about joining forces with the 'willing' residents in your street for a monthly meeting or get-together? Do you feel this would improve community spirit between all ages and races? This get-together could be in the form of a trip to your 'local' where the British public (you) take part in suggesting POSITIVE ideas and putting them forward, or actually putting these ideas into action yourself. Again these sessions would be upbeat, and childrens ideas would be encouraged. The events could take place in different establishments to prevent boredom, plus this would support your local pub/restaurant/club houses etc. Perhaps these get-togethers could be combined with litter picks/tidy-ups of your road. You never know, we could reinvent retro-street-party to be a thing of the future! The only compulsory element of these meetings is FUN and POSITIVITY!

Now it is your turn! We want to hear your ideas on how you could help us and take part in rebrand Britain. Remember we do not have a pot of money! We don't want to hear any blaming or moaning. The Government cannot rebrand hooligans, ladettes, gangstas, vandalism offenders and knife crime offenders etc. The Government are not therapists or shrinks. Plus they are busy continuously rebranding themselves! Unless you want to pay more tax, or be handed another set of rules to abide by, we need to act now!
